GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst is OpenAI's most capable image model, released on September 8, 2026 alongside Flare. It is built for work that has to be exact, like campaign creative and product imagery, and takes a little longer per image.
In late September 2026 it ranked first on LMArena for both text-to-image and image editing. In our tests it kept a sneaker's shape, stitching and logo through a recolor, and the same man recognizable as a chef, a hiker and an executive.
Ad layouts, magazine covers and invitations where every headline, name and date has to be right.
Change the colorway and keep the sole, the stitching, the shape and the logo.
One studio headshot in, the same face out as a hiker, an executive or a chef. Useful for brand stories, team pages and characters.
Charts with the numbers you give it, packaging with every claim in place, slides that keep their hierarchy.
One try per model with Fiddl's settings, nothing retouched. Times are from our run on October 3, 2026.
Same label text on all three; the bottle shape and splash differ.
Three natural, believable candids from the same sentence.
Japanese and prices correct on all three.

In our two-reference fragrance ad Sunburst kept the man's face and the bottle's label exactly, but spelled the new headline "AURELE" instead of "AURELLE". Spell unusual names letter by letter in the prompt and read every word before you use the image; one follow-up edit fixes it.
Use Sunburst when precision is the point: a product that must not change shape, a face that must stay the same, a layout full of exact copy. For drafts and high-volume variations Flare is faster and costs the same on Fiddl, so many people draft with Flare and finish with Sunburst.

OpenAI's most capable image generation and editing model, released on September 8, 2026. It takes text and up to 16 reference images on Fiddl and makes images up to 4K in 11 aspect ratios.
On LMArena's public leaderboards in late September 2026 it ranked first for text-to-image and for image editing, and it was tied for first on Artificial Analysis's text-to-image arena. Scores for new models are still preliminary, and for a particular style another model can suit you better.
OpenAI says Sunburst trades longer generation times for an extra level of precision. In our test it averaged about 40 seconds per image, against about 27 for Flare and about 99 for GPT Image 2.
The same as Flare: about 25 images with the $10 Starter pack and about 125 with the $42.50 Studio pack, from $0.28 per image on the largest pack. 4K images cost a little more. During the launch, code GPTIMAGE20 takes 20% off any pack until November 2, 2026.
That is what it is best at. Give it the photo, say what should change and list what must stay. Results are very close but not pixel-identical, so check the details before you publish.
Yes. Add up to 16 reference images, number them and say what each one is for, for example the product from image 1 in the hands of the person from image 2.
There is no free tier for Sunburst on Fiddl. Packs are one-time payments from $10 with no subscription.
